MOUZ fall to Spirit in Budapest and miss qualification chance

Spirit closed the third map with a 9-3 half on Overpass.

Spirit closed the third map with a 9-3 half on Overpass.

Daniil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets and Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov’s individual performances were enough to defeat MOUZ in a close 2-1 series.

The first map was Spirit’s pick, Mirage, where donk was his usual dominant self, but it was the unlikely Leonid ‘chopper’ Vishnyakov to join him in fragging MOUZ.

MOUZ couldn’t muster any type of response, as they were consistently outfragged and only got 5 rounds.

Train turns things around

With MOUZ’s map pick, the momentum shifted in their favor. Despite being on the T-side, MOUZ 9 rounds in the opening half.

Jimi ‘Jimpphat’ Salo and Ádám ‘torzsi’ Torzsás were key in getting MOUZ their rounds. When the sides switched, it got scary for MOUZ and Spirit fought back.

Soon, the game was within 2 or 3 rounds, but for hally it was already time to think about the next map. On broadcast it was revealed that he told Spirit to not be demoralized by the map of Train, and to think about the next Overpass.

MOUZ fail to close on Overpass

With the loss on Overpass, MOUZ miss their first chance of qualifying to torzsi’s home major in Budapest.

The game was 8-4 in their favor with a strong opening half on Overpass. But once again, the T side was their issue.

Donk went 18-5 in the defensive half to shut down MOUZ time after time. Being left to just attack B, Spirit mustered just enough to get over the line, despite losing a 1v2 to torzsi.

MOUZ are likely to face Falcons tomorrow, a matchup they’ve lost the last few times.
