The Huns survived another day at the StarLadder Budapest Major after taking down Lynn Vision in a decisive 2-0 series. With both teams fighting to avoid elimination, the pressure was high from the first round, but The Huns proved sharper across Ancient and Dust2.
Lynn Vision showed moments of life, yet struggled to find consistency and exit the Major after winning only 22 rounds throughout the entire Swiss Stage. The Huns move on to the 1-2 pool, still alive in the race for Stage 2.
Lynn Vision vs The Huns
Map 1: Ancient (The Huns’ pick)
A clean pistol round gave Lynn Vision a 2-0 lead, but The Huns struck back immediately, taking two rounds of their own to tie the game 2-2. Lynn Vision’s aggressive plays began to backfire as The Huns extended their lead to 4-2, forcing the Chinese side onto a low buy.
The Huns took full advantage of the economic pressure and pushed the score to 6-2 before Lynn Vision finally stopped the streak with a strong A-site hold for 6-3. Another round followed for Lynn Vision, but The Huns responded quickly to make it 7-4. A well-played 2v2 by Lynn Vision secured the final round of the half, but The Huns still led 7-5.
The second-half pistol went to The Huns in chaotic fashion as Lynn Vision had the A-site under control before all turning around and dying in mid to a single player. The score moved to 8-5, and The Huns followed up with another clean round.
Lynn Vision’s first gun round almost fell apart before Z4KR stepped up with three crisp kills to make it 9-6. Their chaotic mid-round style, however, continued to hurt them as they overlooked NIN9 holding an off-angle and conceded two free deaths for 10-6.
A half-buy for Lynn Vision nearly worked, but a poorly coordinated triple-ramp post-plant lost them the round as The Huns moved to 11-6. The two sides traded rounds to reach 12-7 before Lynn Vision attempted a fast B hit that failed instantly. The Huns closed the map 13-7 and took the early advantage in the series.
Map 2: Dust2 (Lynn Vision’s pick)
Lynn Vision began their map pick with a strong start, winning the first two rounds while losing only one player total. The Huns came online once rifles were in play and secured their first round, though they still trailed 2-1.
Lynn Vision answered immediately and swept four straight rounds with no casualties to push the lead to 6-1. The Huns responded with two rounds of their own, including a force buy that forced Lynn Vision to save.
Momentum shifted as The Huns won a 2v5 and followed it with more clean rounds to take control at 6-3. Lynn Vision pulled one back with sharp shooting, but The Huns kept the distance at 7-4. Out of a timeout, Lynn Vision regrouped and closed the half strong with a sweep for 7-5.
The Huns claimed the pistol and the follow-up to stretch the lead to 9-5, putting Lynn Vision under pressure. The Chinese side responded with the first gun round and the follow-up to break The Huns’ money and close the gap to 9-7.
They nearly made it 9-8 before The Huns struck back for 10-8, then extended the lead again when Bart4k denied Z4KR’s clutch attempt.
With Lynn Vision’s economy broken, The Huns reached match point at 12-8. A final Bart4k 3k sealed the map 13-8 as Lynn Vision ran out of steam.
