Skyesports cancels Skyesports Masters 2025, pivots away from Tier 1 CS

Skyesports, an Indian tournament organizer, has announced that their headline event for the year, the Skyesports Masters 2025, has been cancelled along with all other tier 1 tournaments planned for 2025 and 2026.

The event was set to take place in India with a 350,000 dollar prize pool. Skyesports said the decision also affects its 2026 plans, with the company stating it will prioritise strengthening the tier two and grassroots ecosystem.

Focus on “grass roots”

With the cancellation of Skyesports Masters, the TO has announced that they will “shift towards strengthening the Tier 2 and grassroots ecosystem.”

The announcement states that the first tier 2 tournament they invest in will be the Chennai Esports Global Championship. The tournament is set to take place in Chennai, India from November 7 to 9 with a prize pool of 50,000 dollars. The tournament is also supported by the government of Tamil Nadu.
