The Thunderpick World Championship CS2 qualifier wrapped with four familiar names punching their tickets to the main event. Across three days of best of threes, Imperial, OG, 9z and Venom navigated a crowded bracket and left no doubt about their form.
Qualified teams
Imperial
Imperial didn’t drop a map. They opened with a clean 2-0 over TNL on September 10, then closed the job on September 11 with a close 2-0 against Legacy, with one of the maps going to overtime.
OG
OG looked sharp in their opener, sweeping M80 2-0 with both maps ending 13-10. A day later they met BIG, a team that had just swept SAW, and survived a three map scrap 2-1. While the series ended 2-1 in favor of BIG it was never close as big only won a total of six rounds on the two maps OG won.
9z
9z had the most dramatic opening hurdle losing the first map to BetBoom and clawing back the next two maps with BetBoom getting double digits in both, but not being able to force overtime. With momentum on their side, they accelerated into a comfortable 2-0 over PARIVISION.
Venom
Venom booked their place with back to back 2-0s. They stunned Ninjas in Pyjamas with a clean first map to go 1-0 up, but had to go into overtime on the second map to close out the series 2-0. They then shut down Nemiga with two quick confident maps to win the series 2-0.
