BLAST.tv Austin Major marked the final event for Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas as head coach of G2. Ahead of the tournament, it was already confirmed that Eetu “sAW” Saha would take over the role after the Major.
After G2’s elimination at the hands of The MongolZ, we caught up with TaZ to hear his initial thoughts on the departure.
– I feel it’s a little bit too early for me to summarise it. I respect the decision, and I just wish the guys all the best. Hopefully, they will do better, and hopefully, you will see me around.
– I’m just grateful for the chance I got from the organization and from the players and how I was welcomed, especially by Nikola [NiKo] and Nema [huNter].

We also asked the 39-year-old coach whether it was a distraction playing the Major, knowing the team would be making changes right after.
– It’s hard for me to say. It was definitely not easy, because you have to try to keep a good chemistry in the team, and you should always have to have a target in front of you, not an event but a bigger one. So that was definitely hard.
– But I think Oleg [hades] is a true soldier. He pushed through in a lot of the hard moments when he knew that this was only temporary.
What’s next for TaZ?
As for what comes next, the former Virtus.pro star says coaching is still in his plans, even if he’s not ready to look ahead just yet.
– I love coaching. I think I have learned a lot in the last year. It’s exciting, but it’s just too early for me to talk about. You know, we have just played a pretty long game. But I’m still excited about coaching.
TaZ joined G2 as their head coach in December 2023 and has led the team to three titles.
