MOUZ were just one map away from lifting the trophy at BLAST Open Lisbon, but it all slipped away in the fifth and final map of the grand final against Vitality.
After falling short on Train, MOUZ captain Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin openly admitted that he wasn’t prepared for the decider and took full responsibility for the loss.
A captain with brought shoulders
In a post-match interview with BLAST, Brollan didn’t hold back, expressing disappointment in his own performance and leadership on the final map.
– We were a little bit disconnected on the fourth map. But on the fifth map, I was not ready for it. I’m so disappointed about it. At this moment, I can’t really find words. I’m just really disappointed in myself.
– I just want to be the leader for everyone – be the leader for the boys. But yeah, it’s been a long, tough week, and I let the boys down on the final map. I’m really disappointed in myself that I managed to do that. I’ll get the learnings from it, but right now it sucks.

This was MOUZ’s second grand final loss to Vitality this year, following their defeat at ESL Pro League Season 21 just two weeks ago.
To BLAST, Brollan also admits that apEX and company currently have the upper hand.
– At the moment, Vitality has our number. But it’s been a long, long month with a lot of tournaments. We went from Stockholm, we went to Copenhagen, we went here to Lisbon, so it’s been a really exhausting period.
Despite the defeat, Brollan is already looking ahead.
– But yeah, now we go home and take some days off, and then we go on the grind again. I’m just looking forward to developing our playbook, because there hasn’t been that much practice. I need to work on my things, this was the first step – now we need to go to the second step, the Swede concluded.
