roeJ reveals his lucrative sticker money earnings

The former Copenhagen Flames rifler earned nearly twice as much from stickers as he did from prize money.

It’s common knowledge in Counter-Strike that sticker money from Majors can be a major source of income for professional players.

But how much are we really talking?

In a recent episode of the Bootcamp podcast, Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen pulled back the curtain on just how profitable stickers can be. The now-retired Danish rifler revealed that he earned between $600,000 and $900,000 solely from sticker sales during his career.

– We were very lucky with our timing in Flames, and that Flames was such a great organization. Thanks to the Majors alone, there was a huge amount of money. I’ve played at four Majors now, and I think I made somewhere between 4-6 million DKK (≈$600,000-$900,000) just from stickers. That’s not including salary or prize money—just pure sticker earnings, roeJ explained.

A great deal

While many players benefit from sticker revenue, roeJ points out that his earnings were boosted not just by Major success, but by how favorable the revenue split was for his teams.

In the podcast, it was said that Copenhagen Flames gave roeJ and his teammates 14,5% each of the overall sticker money.

– One thing is that the Majors we attended sold really well. Another is that we had a really good percentage. At one Major—Antwerp, which sold very well—we might’ve gotten around 1.8 million kroner each.

– When you earn around 25,000 Danish kroner ($3,625) a month, and then you suddenly get that much from one tournament, just for qualifying. That’s nearly two million ($290,000). So yeah, hitting the right Majors at the right time and having a good revenue share made a huge difference.

roeJ’s Major appearances include PGL Stockholm and PGL Antwerp with Copenhagen Flames, followed by IEM Rio and the BLAST Paris Major under the Fnatic banner.

According to HLTV.org, roeJ earned just over $326,000 in prize money throughout his career, making his sticker income more than double his winnings from competition.
