YNk names his FURIA dream lineup: They need a complete rehaul
The Serbian expert and analyst believes that the current squad was set to fail from the very start and that only one player should survive a potential roster overhaul.
It’s fair to say that FURIA is far, far away from their previous heydays.
Yesterday the Brazilians panthers crashed out from the Elimination stage of the Major with a 0-3 score. The result comes after a series of lacklustre performances, where they have failed to qualify for IEM Katowice, IEM Dallas and BLAST Spring Showdown.
“Set up to fail from the beginning”
We have asked the renowned Counter-Strike expert and analyst Janko “YNk” Paunović to put some words on FURIA’s Major campaign and the future of the Brazilian squad. And to be frank, the Serbian expert does not seem to be excited.
- They managed to achieve the bare minimum, which is to make it out of the opening stage. I don’t think many people expected them to do more than that, which tells you a lot about this FURIA team. Acceptable? I don’t know, I think the team was set up to fail from the beginning, YNk states to Pley.gg and continues:
- FURIA are outside of the HLTV Top 15 at this point which is a fair representation of where they are in the scene. Unable to make the playoffs of any big events and perhaps just have an upset win here and there.
What should they do then?
To Pley.gg, YNk makes it clear that he believes that FURIA needs to shake up their roster if they wish to find success going forward. So we asked him to name his realistic dream lineup if he were FURIA’s general manager.
- Tough question since we keep hearing how the Brazilian scene is unrealistic when it comes to buyouts etc. but I think they need a complete rehaul at this point. And a different coach. Maybe rikz comes over with biguzera, or you try zakk or bit…anyone really.
Here is YNk's suggestion for a reworked FURIA roster:
Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato (now FURIA) - Rifle
Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer (now Legacy) - Rifle
Bruno "latto" Rebelatto (now Legacy) - Rifle
Lucas "nqz" Soares (now paiN)/ João "story" Vieira (now SAW) - AWP
Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt (now paiN) - IGL
“A complete rehaul”, YNk states which he underlines in his choice of players, with Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato being the only current FURIA player to survive.
Instead, he believes they should go for paiN’s powerful captain Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt.

Do you think KSCERATO is wasting his career in FURIA? If yes, what should he do?
- He’s been wasting his career in FURIA for a while now. He’s had really good offers to leave which he declined which makes it clear he doesn’t want to leave, so he needs to develop a bit of an ego and just demand changes - real changes so that he has a team around him that’s actually capable of winning.
Brazilian teams have shown a lot of promise at the Major. Are FURIA in danger of being dethroned as the best Brazilian team in CS?
- They’ve been in danger for a while now, they’ve just had more opportunities to play in Europe compared to some of the other teams which helped their standing. Both paiN and Imperial have shown more this Major and they even lost to Legacy… But I imagine they will change their roster after this, YNk concludes.
FURIA results in 2024:
- Not making it to IEM Katowice (Losing to TheMongolz and Apeks)
- Not making it to BLAST Spring Showdown (Losing to Metizport)
- Not making it to IEM Dallas (Losing to 9z)
- 3-5 record at the Major (Losing to Legacy, Lynn Vision, G2, FaZe, ESCTATIC)
FURIA currently possess the following lineup, which is one of the oldest squads in top-tier CS:
Andrei "arT" Piovezan
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes
Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (coach)
Average age of 27.1.
