REZ on a “whole new NIP”: It has never been like this before
Will NIP be able to continue their form in the future?
The Swedes from Ninjas in Pyjamas have finally found some success after some dire years.
A new direction on and off the server was implemented in 2024 with a significant overhaul of the roster and management behind the team.
Something, the iconic organization seems to benefit from at the moment, as we see the Alejandro “alex” Masanet-led squad play better than ever.
More fun to play
Yesterday NIP secured themselves a spot in the grand final of the prominent YaLLa Compass 2024 after beating FURIA in the semifinals. In a broadcast interview, the star rifler Fredrik “REZ” Sterner highlights an atmosphere change in and around the team as the reason for their current success.
- There’s a totally different atmosphere within the team – a lot of new people and lot of new energy. The energy has never been like this before. It’s so much more fun to play and I’m enjoying every moment. It feels like a whole new NIP and that’s why it’s so easy for me to play when I have guys like this.
- r1nke is such a key part of our success so far because he helps us a lot with the hype and energy, so he has been a very important addition to this team.
REZ is undoubtedly the right one to ask when it comes to what the current lineup is doing right compared to previous compositions, with the rifler having represented the Swedish ninjas for no less than seven years and counting.

"Everyone is doing their job"
In the post-match interview after FURIA, REZ was also asked about the team’s communication in clutch situations.
- You can hear my voice, right? We’re screaming a lot, it’s very chaotic. But we’re doing it with passion and we’re not missing anything. Everyone is talking and chiming in, giving good communication. Everyone is doing their job and I think that’s a big reason for why it’s going so well right now. Everyone has confidence in their role perfectly. I’m just super proud of every single one here.
Grand Finals will be against The MongolZ and they expected to face FURIA. Any words towards The MongolZ?

A near perfect run so far
NIP’s run to the grand final at YaLLa Compass 2024 in Abu Dhabi has been outstanding, only giving up one single map in the process. That loss was to The MongolZ, which also is the team that awaits REZ and company in today’s title decider, where the two finalists are set to fight for the $200.000 first prize. The match will be played at 17:00 (CET).
