It would be fair to say that Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen has been one of the most discussed and criticised figures in Counter-Strike over the past couple of years.

His time as captain for G2, and particularly his individual level during that stint, drew plenty of heat from both the community and analysts, making him a frequent target of criticism.

Now standing in for Astralis at PGL Astana, HooXi addressed the criticism during a desk segment after the team’s win over Virtus.pro. Speaking with Richard Lewis and the panel, the Danish IGL gave his take on the scrutiny he’s faced.

– First of all, you need to watch out or you get the Kassad treatment here on the desk, HooXi said to Richard Lewis with a laugh.

– Honestly, most people in this industry don’t remember more than your last game. So, I don’t take the criticism that heavy or hard. Some things were unfair, some things were fair. Like obviously my individual level looks shit, but no one are noticing how many weapons I drop, how many times I run in first, how many times I does this or that. It’s just easy to look at the stats and say: “What, he’s minus ten. Holy shit.”

HooXi is currently standing in for Astralis after the benching of Casper “cadiaN” Møller last month. Astralis have since secured a playoff spot at PGL Astana.
