YouTuber breaks down growing bot problem in CS2

Get a closer insight into the case farming economy fueling CS2’s bot problem.

If you’ve played CS2 recently, chances are you’ve run into a suspicious bot or two. Now, a new video takes a closer look at what’s actually going on, and why the game is seeing a surge in bot activity.

In his latest upload titled “Why Are There So Many Bots in CS2?”, YouTuber Moooniz breaks down the mechanics behind bot farms, how they operate, and why they’ve become so widespread. The focus is on case farming — a practice where scripted accounts idle in matches to generate valuable case drops over time.

Moooniz explains that these bots aren’t AI-driven but rely on simple, scripted behaviour, built for one thing only: profit. With low ban rates and relatively high margins, some operations are able to pull in hundreds of dollars a month using hundreds of accounts.

The full video also looks at how farms are set up, what Valve could do to stop them, and why the issue is unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
