Whilst the AK-47 and the M4A1-S are staples in the current CS:GO meta, there is one gun to rule them all. I am, of course, talking about ‘the big green’. In the current climate of professional CS:GO there is no player as impactful as a team’s AWP’er. Wielding the expensive but powerful weapon with a scope allowing for duels in almost all ranges, the AWP’er has become the star of any great CS:GO roster.
But why is the AWP so impactful and powerful? I mean it is also incredibly expensive to purchase. The easy answer is that it only takes one bullet. One bullet from the waist and up and your opponent is out of the round. Whilst this makes it a weapon for any player to fear, sometimes you get two for the price of one. It happened recently when the greatest of all time “s1mple” managed to hit an important collateral against OG in the Semi-finals of BLAST Premier Spring Final 2022.

Whilst a collateral in professional CS:GO is rare it is not impossible. Many have done it before and some in dire moments of a round. Take a look at some of the greatest collaterals in the history of CS:GO:
