After one of the most controversial CS2 updates in recent memory, Valve pushed a small follow-up patch last night, but it had nothing to do with the skins market. Earlier this week, the so-called Knife Trade Up update let players trade up Covert skins into knives or gloves for the first time, triggering a widespread market crash. Many expected a rollback or clarification. That did not happen.
What actually changed
Valve’s latest patch focused purely on gameplay and stability:
- Increased matchmaking party size for Retakes to allow 4 players in a party
- Fixed a case where players joining Retakes during freeze time could spawn at a wrong point
- Fixed bot manager logic to make room for players by kicking dead bots first, then bots not controlled by a human
- Stability improvements
For now, there are no adjustments to the Knife Trade Up feature, and the community continues to watch for any follow-up from Valve regarding the marketplace impact.
