Valve releases new CS2 update addressing Cache bugs and grenade mechanics

Valve has rolled out a new update for Counter-Strike 2, bringing a series of targeted fixes to Cache alongside technical adjustments to gameplay mechanics and workshop tools.

Cache receives material and clipping adjustments

The primary focus of the map updates centers on Cache. The developers have patched various holes across the environment and corrected surface types for multiple materials. A practical gameplay change includes the addition of grating to specific windows, which will now block bullets. The update also includes tweaks to both player and grenade clipping to ensure smoother movement and utility usage across the map.

Grenade mechanics and stability improvements

Valve has addressed a specific gameplay bug related to utility handling. Players can no longer exploit a case where it was possible to cancel a grenade throw after the action had started near the end of the pin pull animation. The patch also introduces general stability improvements to the game client.

Workshop tools and music kits

For community creators, the update resolves a bug in the model browser that prevented the currently used asset from being selected upon opening. Another tool fix addresses an issue with layered materials that share the same surface property across all layers. Finally, users equipping NIGHTMODE II music kits will experience a minor audio update, as the developers added a second round MVP anthem that will play at a one-to-five ratio.
