Unintended CS2 Bug Breaks Smokes After Latest Update

A major unintended visual bug has surfaced in Counter-Strike 2 following last night’s update, allowing players to spot enemies through smoke grenades in ways that break the game’s core mechanics.

The issue was first highlighted on Twitter, where a user posted footage demonstrating the glitch. In the clip, an enemy becomes fully visible through a smoke cloud if there is a Molotov burning behind them. In some cases, muzzle flashes from enemies firing behind smokes are also visible – something that should never happen under normal gameplay conditions.

Further investigation by community figure @ericzucar has pinpointed the problem to occur specifically when the Anti-Aliasing setting is turned off (“None”). Users running other AA settings appear unaffected, indicating the issue is tied to specific graphical configurations introduced in the recent update.

Valve has yet to acknowledge the bug publicly or release a patch. Until then, players are urged to avoid setting Anti-Aliasing to “None” if they want to prevent this visual exploit – or ensure fair play.

With competitive matches potentially impacted, the community is calling for a swift response.
