The fourth iteration of Stake Ranked starts today in Barcelona, Spain. Organized by StarLadder, the offline event features eight teams competing for a $100,000 prize pool. Beyond the prize money, the tournament carries specific consequences for the European Major qualification race and the broader Valve Regional Standings.
Schedule for the opening day
The opening day consists of four best-of-three series. The action begins at 12:00.
12:00: B8 vs. Luminosity
14:30: BIG vs. fnatic
17:00: Astralis vs. Alliance
19:30: FaZe vs. Nemiga
B8, BIG, Astralis, and FaZe enter their respective matchups as the betting favorites. The tournament utilizes a double-elimination bracket, meaning an opening loss pushes a team directly into the lower bracket, one series away from elimination.
Standings impact and Major qualification
According to Udknud, an analyst tracking the Valve Regional Standings, Stake Ranked 4 will directly impact the European Major race. The tournament’s outcomes correlate directly with win-loss records. Teams finishing 0-2 or 1-2 will decrease their Major qualification chances. Reaching the semi-finals or better guarantees teams a stronger standing than they held before the event.
Going 0-2 will result in a heavy statistical blow for two teams, while the overall tournament winner is highly likely to make the Major. B8, FaZe, and Astralis can mathematically secure their Major qualification with a strong performance here.
The results from Barcelona will also factor into the upcoming October 5th ranking update. This update determines the first tier 1 tournament invites for the 2027 season. Depending on their final placements, several teams could also enter contention for a BLAST Rival invitation.
