FURIA blew their chance at winning their first tournament of the year with no Vitality.
Staehr is continuing his incredible form as the star rifler of Astralis. In this tournament, he holds a 1.25 rating, the 6th highest overall.
Here, he absolutely destroyed FURIA on the third map of Inferno, averaging 126 damage per round. Astralis lost Dust2, but it was a close affair where molodoy won a crucial round with a jumping AWP kill.
FURIA leave EPL scratching their heads, as they were meant to be one of the favorites. Failing this online stage means that they lose another chance at claiming a trophy, this time with no Vitality.
NAVI quelled 3DMAX
3DMAX looked rejuvenated this tournament with the addition of misutaaa. He was solid throughout, with a 1.13 rating in this Stage.
They were close to beating The MongolZ yesterday, but no cigar. Today, they were simply outclassed by NAVI on Dust2 and Ancient.
Inferno was a different story, as 3DMAX was able to punish NAVI’s bold choice to pick it. Their standout was still misutaaa, who managed to keep a 1.00 K/D throughout.
FUT grinded out win against G2
The young international Ukrainina squad earned the story of the day, by defeating G2 in a three-map series.
It started horribly for them, as they got destroyed 5-13 on their home map of Mirage. MATYS was unplayable and FUT had no answer on their own CT side.
On Dust2, they grinded out a 13-11 win where they almost choked. They were up 12-6 and conceded five in a row, but still closed out. On Overpass, it looked done and dusted, as G2 won their CT side 8-4.
But FUT kept up their game, and were able to win the second pistol. With that, they were able to streak the rounds together to reach 13 rounds first.
This is a disaster for G2, who have yet to get any big result since their surprise win last year in London in September. Their lack of star presence burns them again, as they have no one to take over the game in crucial moments.
