“Sometimes it gets heated”: YEKINDAR on relationship with molodoy

The Latvian rifler is currently on loan at FURIA.

FURIA are through to the playoffs at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, being their first Major Top 8 in over two years.

A big part of that success has come from the team’s two newest faces: Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis and Danil “molodoy” Golubenko.

Both players joined in April, and despite limited time together, the chemistry seems to be working. Especially between the two Eastern Europeans.

In a conversation with Pley, YEKINDAR opened up about their dynamic.

– We speak the same language. For him, it’s sometimes hard in English, so I’m translating, and it’s creating a bond between us. It’s easy for us to live with each other, but at the same time, we have different cultures.

– Sometimes it can get heated, and sometimes we’re arguing with him, because he’s young and talented and he wants to prove himself.

He continued:

– The best part about molodoy is that he’s not afraid of saying things as it is. Maybe it’s because he’s not that good at English, but he can say “blyat” and “bot.” He’s not afraid to deal with the problems ,and that’s one of his best traits.

molodoy on the stage?

molodoy heads into the Major playoffs in Austin with only one stage experience at PGL Astane in the bag.

But that’s not something that worries YEKINDAR.

– He only got his HLTV profile one year ago, and he’s already playing two arenas. That’s amazing. I think at PGL Astana he showed that he’s great [playing on stage]. I did not feel he felt pressure in communication or whatever. For me, he was playing great.
