On a podcast with commentator TeaTime, G2’s coach gave praise to Falcons’ recent benching, while revelaing information about the NertZ-malbsMd deal.
sAw, G2’s coach of Heroic and ENCE fame, appeared on a podcast with TeaTime and gave inside information on the workings of G2 and his opinions on the scene.
Before joining G2, he played with kyxsan on HEROIC, who he had a lot of praise for.
[Kyxsan] is willing to take risks as an individual and a caller. He gives freedom to the players, and also is able to make his calls.
However, sAw said he noticed some difference between kyxsan on HEROIC and Falcons, maybe because of the “freedom” he had to give to players like NiKo and m0NESY.

I like [kyxsan’s] eye for the game […]. In Falcons, maybe he was in a position where he didn’t want to call [his] strat because someone might say it’s a bad call, or make a hindsight comment (after the round).
Malbs’s identity crisis on G2
When asked about the malbsMd-NertZ deal, sAw said they had been exploring it since December 2025.
At a certain point, it became clear that it wasn’t going to work [with malbs in NiKo’s positions]. We switched him to anchor positions, which was immediately much better for him.
Despite making the necessary role changes, it was already too late.
[Malbs] was given too much responsibility on G2. Everyone was saying he’d play in NiKo’s positions, but he’s not a NiKo type player.
He would be more stagnant [during the rounds] and then wait for someone to call […]. I think malbs is a good player. He’s good when he can be aggressive and knows what space he is working with. There’s not so many players that can be anchors on CT and space-takers on T-side.

Matchup against Vitality
sAw said in the interview that he thinks Vitality is the best team ever in CS. However, he also said this:
We match up well against Vitality. They have a (winning record) against us, but if you look at the maps, a lot of them are close.
He said he didn’t think the BLAST London final was a fluke, but that it was an exceptional event for the players.
[BLAST Open London] was the off-event where we performed highly. We didn’t have all our things in place then.
tN1R’s role changes in Spirit
sAw was one of the people who coached tN1R during his rise before joining Team Spirit, when he was one of CS2’s most exciting prospects.
[When tN1R joined Heroic], he didn’t speak English. But he learned very quickly. He was a vocal player and created a lot of space for the team.
He noticed that Spirit has limited tN1R’s space as a player, and have not seemingly adapted to him.
In Spirit, tN1R’s space was more limited than Heroic. [Spirit have changed a bit in practice], but they do a lot of the same things as before.
