rain on s1mple: Everyone thinks he is toxic, but he just wants to win

After the qualification for the third stage of the Major in Austin, we caught up with FaZe's Norwegian rifler.

FaZe booked the last ticket to Stage 3 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major with a 2-0 win against MIBR. After the match we spoke with Håvard “rain” Nygaard about the Major and how it is to play alongside Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev, who is currently playing as a stand-in at the Major.

– Of course, there are some things you can’t perfect when you have a new stand-in, so you a not going to be able to play perfect Counter-Strike. So it can create some doubts, but I had a really good feeling coming into the Major, and I have a good feeling playing with Sascha (s1mple) as well. Watching him play and playing alongside him is something I really enjoy, and I want to prove to him that we can go far.

The former Major MVP Håvard “rain” Nygaard also commented on the chemistry on the team with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev onboard.

– It’s really good. Sascha (s1mple) is from a different style of Counter-Strike. He likes to be very vocal, and if you do something wrong, he will tell you. I know HLTV and everyone thinks he is toxic, but he just wants to win, and he wants to play perfect Counter-Strike, and sometimes we don’t, and then he is going to tell us. I think it’s a good thing.

You can see the entire interview with Håvard “rain” Nygaard down below, where the Norwegian also comments on FaZe’s first round matchup in the third stage of the Major, where they go up against Aurora.
