NiKo and Falcons set up FaZe semi-final clash at PGL Cluj-Napoca

Falcons and FaZe made it through the quarter-finals in Romania and will face each other in the semi-final.

Nikola “NiKo” Kovač delivered a masterclass to power Falcons past Eternal Fire in a high-stakes quarter-final at PGL Cluj-Napoca, setting up a semi-final showdown against FaZe. The Saudi-backed organization overcame their Turkish rivals 2-1, snapping a three-match losing streak in their highest-pressure meeting yet.

Despite a shaky start on Dust2, where Danny “zonic” Sørensen’s squad lost their own map pick, Falcons adapted brilliantly to Eternal Fire’s Train gamble and sealed the victory with a dominant Nuke performance from NiKo. The Bosnian star posted a staggering 1.53 rating across the series, including a monstrous 1.91 on Nuke, leaving Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş struggling to make an impact.

NiKo outshines XANTARES in one-sided Nuke battle

Train, the newest addition to the competitive map pool, proved to be a gamble for Eternal Fire. Despite a promising 3-1 start, Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli and his squad failed to capitalize, trailing 4-8 at the half before falling 11-13. But the real downfall came on Nuke, where XANTARES—usually the driving force behind Eternal Fire—completely vanished. His 0.55 rating, combined with a 2-7 record in opening duels and 2-5 in direct fights against NiKo, left too much for MAJ3R to salvage as Falcons ran away with the series.

FaZe roll past SAW to book semi-final spot

Meanwhile, FaZe continued their dominant run at Cluj-Napoca, securing a 2-0 win over SAW to book their place in the semi-finals. Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s men entered the arena stage as favorites, having cruised through the group stage with a flawless 3-0 record. Their quarter-final matchup against SAW was a rematch from the group phase, but this time, the Portuguese squad couldn’t replicate their previous fight.

FaZe dismantled SAW on Ancient with a commanding 13-4 win, fueled by key rounds from karrigan, Håvard “rain” Nygaard, and a clutch 1v2 from Helvijs “broky” Saukants. SAW had hoped to exploit FaZe’s perceived weakness on Nuke, a map where Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski had struggled in previous outings. However, the American rifler flipped the script, delivering a 1.41 rating and a 21-16 K-D, helping FaZe close out a 13-9 win to secure their first playoff victory with him on the roster.

With NiKo in red-hot form and FaZe looking rock-solid, Saturday’s semi-final between the two promises to be a blockbuster.
