NAVI Head of Esports denies b1t rumors: “He is like a son to me”

Recent reports surrounding Natus Vincere and potential roster changes have sparked a public exchange between veteran journalist Richard Lewis and NAVI Head of Esports Amiran “ami” Rekhviashvili. The discussion centers on claims that Team Falcons attempted to acquire Valerij “b1t” Vakhovsjkyj and head coach Andrij “B1ad3” Ghorodensjkyj earlier this year.

The initial report and public denial

During a recent podcast broadcast on the Last Free Nation, Lewis stated that Team Falcons had sought both b1t and B1ad3. Lewis detailed that b1t desired a transfer, linking this motivation to his close friendship with G2 Esports’ Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.

Rekhviashvili responded directly to Lewis on X to reject the claims. The NAVI executive outlined three specific points to correct the record.

First, he stated that Team Falcons never approached the organization regarding a transfer for B1ad3. Second, he clarified that NAVI did receive a buyout offer, but this occurred in 2024 immediately following their victory at the PGL Major Copenhagen. Finally, Rekhviashvili addressed the player’s status, emphasizing that NAVI never forced b1t to stay, that the player is happy with the organization, and that he has never requested a transfer to another team.

A personal bond and a sarcastic reply

Beyond the organizational clarifications, Rekhviashvili added a personal statement regarding his relationship with the young star. He described b1t as one of the most important people in his life and compared him to a son. He emphasized his commitment to the player’s well-being, stating he would not allow anyone to hurt b1t or see him unhappy.

Lewis replied to the NAVI executive with a dismissive tone. He compared the sincerity of Rekhviashvili’s denial to an “accidental M249 buy” in Counter-Strike. Lewis added that the rumor mill going into overtime is a standard part of the roster change season. He concluded by wishing NAVI luck with future transfers, suggesting the organization is likely considering multiple options after failing to qualify for the playoffs at Cologne.
