NAF: I honestly don’t know if I’ll be on the team after this event

The Canadian rifler has been representing the iconic Liquid banner since 2018. But is it over now?

Keith “NAF” Markovic has been the constant through Liquid’s many changes over the years.

But after the team’s disappointing 0-3 exit at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, the Canadian rifler admits his time on the roster might be coming to an end.

In a short post-match interview with BLAST, NAF didn’t shy away from uncertainty about his future.

– Honestly, I’m not sure, because I honestly don’t know if I’ll be on the team after this event. To me, it doesn’t really matter right now. We’ll just have to wait and see, NAF said when asked if he’s optimistic about the future.

Exhausted and fatigued

In an interview on Wednesday with Pley, NAF spoke at length about his role in Liquid and the mental toll of playing on a team that’s been in a near-constant state of change.

After years of adjusting to new lineups, systems, and leadership styles, the Canadian rifler admitted the instability is starting to wear on him.

– Maybe it’s coming to a point where it is getting a little bit fatiguing and a bit exhausting to kind of keep up. No matter what, I need to keep my boots on the ground and keep going, and find my way to bounce back, NAF said.

He also reflected on how much he’s had to adapt — not just across tournaments, but across entire eras of Liquid CS.

– I’ve been playing with so many different players and different IGLs, but I’ve always found my way to perform. But now it’s kind of getting to a point where I am not sure if it is me playing, or if this is a mental thing to a point where it is more exhaustion than anything.
