Astralis is out of the StarLadder Budapest Major after losing 0-2 to Liquid. The Danes weren’t able to get double digits in either of the maps. If you ask Magisk, that was not Astralis’ real level.

“On a normal day we would be able to beat them [Liquid]”

It wasn’t meant to be for Astralis, as Ultimate, who was on fire, and the rest of Liquid kept Astralis from stage 3 of the Major. Both teams came from 0-2 down and had the chance of qualifying, but Astralis didn’t show up today, according to Magisk.

“At the end of the day it’s the most important game, and we didn’t show up. We only have ourselves to blame for that.”

And while the blame isn’t laid on one person specifically, Magisk did lift the covers a little for what exactly went wrong in the match.

“We didn’t commit 100% to the plan we were doing and people were not going all in and that’s costly.”

Contract year

Magisk is only on loan at Astralis and his loan will soon expire, meaning any team is free to pick him up. What he has shown this Major is without a doubt worthy of a decent team.

But Magisk himself didn’t want to spill the beans on what he has planed for 2026.

“You will see what happens next year.”

Pressed a little further and asking specifically if Magisk has signed a contract, he revealed he is still a free agent for 2026.

“No I have not [signed a contract], you will see next year.”
