In the grand final of the CS Asia Championships 2025, Legacy faced 3DMAX. Throughout the tournament, 3DMAX had dropped only one match before the final, and that loss was to Legacy. Legacy, however, fell to Liquid earlier, which forced them into the playoffs from the quarterfinals rather than the semifinals.
The match
Since CS2’s release we have enjoyed best-of-five grand finals, and series like this show why a best-of-five belongs in Major finals as well.
To open the series, 3DMAX picked their signature Nuke, but Legacy were clearly prepared. A 10-2 CT half from Legacy left 3DMAX with too much to do on the attack.
- Nuke: 13-6 for Legacy
Next up was Dust2, Legacy’s pick, and a chance to build a 2-0 lead. Instead, a razor-thin map went 3DMAX’s way as they edged Legacy to equalize the series.
- Dust2: 13-11 for 3DMAX
Inferno, another Legacy pick, followed. 3DMAX controlled the map from start to finish and battered Legacy to move ahead 2-1 in the grand final.
- Inferno: 13-5 for 3DMAX
Heading into Train, 3DMAX had a chance to close the tournament, but Legacy steadied after two rough maps and forced a decider.
- Train: 13-10 for Legacy
The finale was Ancient. Another blistering 10-2 CT half from Legacy left 3DMAX with no room to breathe. The Brazilians closed out the series and lifted the trophy in convincing fashion.
- Ancient: 13-6 for Legacy
