Legacy shocks Natus Vincere to set up heavyweight quarter-final clash at IEM Atlanta

The group stage at IEM Atlanta concluded Thursday morning with unexpected results, most prominently Legacy securing a victory over Natus Vincere. This outcome pushed Natus Vincere into a highly anticipated early playoff matchup against Vitality. In another surprising turn of events, Astralis exited the tournament entirely following a defeat by GamerLegion. With the group stage complete, attention now shifts to the playoffs beginning Friday.

Early collision course for Natus Vincere and Vitality

The standout fixture of the quarter-finals is the battle between Natus Vincere and Vitality, scheduled for Friday evening. Due to Natus Vincere dropping their match against Legacy, two of the highest-rated teams in Counter-Strike meet much earlier than expected in the bracket. Vitality enters the series as the clear favorite according to early odds, but the high-pressure environment of an arena playoff guarantees intense competition. The winner of this matchup advances to face BetBoom in the semi-finals on Saturday.

GamerLegion and paiN battle for a semi-final spot

The first quarter-final features GamerLegion against paiN. GamerLegion enters the playoffs with high confidence after eliminating Astralis from the competition. Both teams see a realistic path to a deep tournament run, with the winner securing a semi-final slot against Legacy. Legacy currently awaits Saturday’s opponent after their strong group stage performance earned them a direct pass to the final four.
