jcobbb after Bucharest tournament: “I expected this to be my last tournament in FaZe”

The 2026 season for FaZe has fallen short of expectations, culminating in a failed qualification for the upcoming Major in Cologne. Following these results, in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen left the active roster and finalized a transfer to Falcons. A newly released FaZe documentary captures the immediate internal reactions to the captain stepping down.

An unexpected departure

For Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski, the change in leadership came as a complete surprise. The player revealed he thought his own time on the roster was coming to an end after their recent performances.

I just woke up and saw the goodbye message from Finn,” Pietruszewski said in the documentary. “And honestly, I expected some changes after Bucharest because that was unacceptable what happened. I expected this to be my last tournament in FaZe, but yeah, some different things happened.

Mixed reactions from the remaining roster

Other members of the team shared their thoughts on the roster move, highlighting the tense atmosphere following their string of poor results. Helvijs “broky” Saukants viewed the situation bluntly.

Not the greatest ending to him being in [FaZe], but, you know, he didn’t do good,” Saukants explained. “So, I did not feel upset or anything, you know. I understood and it’s all good. No bad feelings.

David “frozen” Čerňanský detailed a brief exchange he had with his former in-game leader regarding the specific decision to sign with Falcons.

I told him that, you know, I understand, but I don’t support it, you know, and I mean, that’s pretty much how it happened, you know,” Čerňanský stated.
