Heroic have officially completed their active Counter-Strike roster following the signings of Antonio “MartinezSa” Martinez and Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin. The announcements confirm the organization’s off-season reconstruction and follow the recent appointment of Joonas “doto” Forss as head coach.
Sniper transition brings Spanish AWPer into English-speaking environment
MartinezSa transfers from Gentle Mates, an organization that has been exploring options to sell its roster during the off-season. The 25-year-old Spanish AWPer takes over the primary sniper role from Simon “yxngstxr” Boije, who stepped down after filling the position for six months. Boije had been acting as a temporary sniper after Alimzhan “Alkaren” Bitimbay was moved to the bench due to ongoing visa issues.
This move marks the first time MartinezSa will compete in an international, English-speaking project. His previous professional experience includes tenures within regional Spanish-speaking squads, including Movistar Riders, 9z, and Gentle Mates.
Following his signing, MartinezSa stated on social media that he looks forward to the new challenge and aims to achieve consistent competitive results with the lineup.
Brollan relinquishes leadership roles to return to aggressive positions
The acquisition of Brollan from MOUZ completes the five-man active roster. The Swedish player was sidelined by MOUZ in April during a lineup restructuring that saw Dorian “xertioN” Berman assume the in-game leadership duties.
Brollan spent the last 18 months operating as the tactical leader for MOUZ. However, information published by HLTV clarifies that Brollan will not serve as the in-game leader for Heroic. The organization indicated that while his tier-one experience will provide a strong voice during matches, he will step away from the captaincy.
This structural shift allows Brollan to return to the opening roles he previously occupied during his tenure with fnatic. Utilizing those positions, he secured the 19th and 15th spots in the HLTV Top 20 player rankings in 2019 and 2020.
Heroic stated that specific roles within the squad will be refined during practice before the team makes its competitive debut at Stake Ranked Episode 3 in Barcelona, Spain.
