HEROIC down to 0-2 pool on Day 1 of Cologne Major

HEROIC lost 11-13 to Lynn Vision after being in pole position to recover from the earlier upset.

HEROIC lost 11-13 to Lynn Vision after being in pole position to recover from the earlier upset.

Lynn Vision had yet to beat a top 30 team in the world across all of 2026, only beating NIP at CAC as far as European teams. Today, they took down HEROIC after being down 6-10 on Dust2.

HEROIC were one of the teams favoured to go through Stage 1, but have now stomached two consecutive upsets against Sharks and then Lynn Vision, both ranked below the top 30 on the VRS.

They had a superb 8-4 CT-side of Dust2, but crumbled under the decisive pressure of the T-side.

Player of the match

The AWP difference proved to be crucial in this match – yxngstxr was nowhere near z4kr who got 9 sniper kills.

However, the player of the match ended up being Westmelon, having the strongest K-D with a 24-13 record. He also logged the most multikills (7), three above anyone else on the server.

On the HEROIC side, it was a story of two halves, as xfl0ud and yxngstxr started strong but fell off a cliff after.

B8 close out a shaky Dust2

B8 can celebrate having clinched a 2-0 record today, but they were against the ropes against the Australian hopefuls, THUNDER dOWNUNDER.

After not picking up any wins against top 30 opposition this year, the Australians were a hair away from beating two of the favorites to go through consecutively today.

After B8 got to a 4-0 start, they fell victim to the Australians’ aggressive style that got them entry kills. B8 lost the half 5-7, and lost the second pistol round which started to spell defeat.

Unlike HEROIC, B8 was able to rally at the crucial moments, and looked like the better team against a squad relying on the individual performance of their captain, dexter.

Player of the match

On the side of B8, esenthial was clearly the best player – the only one who showed consistency across both sides of play.

On the other side, dexter began to try to take the game into his own hands went it started to go south, even picking up the secondary AWP.

Nevertheless, esenthial was the pillar that allowed B8 to take the win, and sit now with a 2-0 record.
