gla1ve retires as a player and sets sights on coaching

Danish veteran in-game leader Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander has announced his retirement for playing in an X-post.

Danish veteran in-game leader Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander has announced his retirement from playing in an X post.

In his announcement, the former Astralis captain mentions that he wants to move into coaching.

A legendary career

During his time on Astralis, he won 16 titles, including four Majors and the first ever Intel Grand Slam. With the Astralis core, he helped define one of the most dominant eras in Counter-Strike.

In 2023, he was benched from Astralis as blameF took over the in-game leading duties, ending a long chapter where gla1ve was widely regarded as the best in-game leader of all time.

Shortly after, he transferred to ENCE, where he won CCT Season 3 Europe, but no other notable trophies. The team showed promise at times, but struggled to reach tier-1.

Looking ahead, gla1ve’s shift toward coaching feels natural given his playing past. With the Major underway, several teams are expected to make changes after the tournament, which could give gla1ve a way in to tier-1 again.
