The #19-ranked team in the world (VRS) is out of the Major in its first stage.
This 1-2 match was a grueling affair with two overtimes, so much that GamerLegion’s (GL’s) coach couldn’t even watch the last round.
Ashhh, the coach of GL, said that it was his fault his team “didn’t pull through in the crucial moments”, and apologized to their fans.
GL’s pick was Overpass, a map that PARIVISION are undefeated on in their last 5 outings. It is also one of Jame’s playgrounds historically, having been one of his home maps during Outsiders’ 2022 Major win.
A tight battle on Overpass
This pick ended up backfiring for GL, as an initial 9-3 half wasn’t enough for them to close out. The defensive side was a masterclass from xIELO, who just managed to push it to OT with proactive bathrooms play.
Once in OT, PARIVISION got on the front foot by winning 2 CT rounds. They were in position to take map point right away, but an incredible AWP flick from hypex kept it alive for GL.
Nevertheless, PARIVISION still closed out with a contact play on B, that caught GL off-guard.
“In Internet, it’s much easier,” said dastan, PARIVISION’s coach after the map, regarding PARIVISION’s ability to play on LAN. “I tell them, we need more right now.”
He also said that he is harsh, as “he is the boss on this team”. “Because there’s pressure, they will feel different,” he added about the elimination match against GamerLegion.
Ancient goes the distance as well
The second map was a back-and-forth affair. GamerLegion kicked off with the stronger form on their defensive side.
However, PARIVISION made a late T-side comeback to keep the game 6-6. They then got up to 10-6, and were in position to take the game, even to Scrawny casting the game.
GL came back with their best face to make it 11-10 in their favor.
PARIVISION fought back, and had an opportunity to take match point, but hypex won an incredible 1v3 with the AWP.
The game went to overtime, where PARIVISION won rounds by the skin of their teeth, including a Jame smoke defuse.
