FlyQuest allowed GamerLegion back into Inferno after being up 11-9, saving one of the key 3-0 choices on the Pick ’em challenge.

GamerLegion find themselves up 2-0 at Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major after grinding out two close wins on Inferno. Recently in the grand final of IEM Atlanta, they are a dark horse to make playoffs.

FlyQuest started the map 4-0 and had a great start to their CT-side, but it wasn’t enough to stop GamerLegion’s tactics. Their aggressive site hits as a pack ended up making FlyQuest capitulate.

GamerLegion’s AWPer, hypex, rated their performance a 6 out of 10, and is happy to be up 2-0.

There’s a lot to improve on, but happy to get into the best of threes now.

Player of the match

On the side of FlyQuest, nettik was solid as the rotator on the defensive half and found 4 opening kills while dropping a 1.61 rating.

However, REZ also dropped a 1.61 rating while having an even stronger CT-side and getting 6 opening kills, so he takes the MVP.

M80 filets the Sharks

North American fans have more and more reasons to be hopeful at Cologne, as Grim is starting to perform on NRG and M80 is finding their form.

JBa, one of NA’s few prsopects, had been dropping off, but was critical in finding a win over Sharks here. He dominated the CT-side with 125 ADR and 15 kills just in the first half.

It was a clean win for M80, taking it 13-6, humbling Sharks after upsetting HEROIC in their first matchup.

Player of the match

The aforementioned JBa was challenged in this match by the opposing doc, who was the sole obstacle in M80’s way in this game.

He equalled JBa’s 1.51 rating, but doc did not provide the same output as far as clutches, kills or damage.

On M80 everybody performed, but JBa stood out for winning a clutch and carrying the 9-3 CT-side.
