G2 Esports and Team Liquid have officially confirmed a highly anticipated player trade. Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa has departed G2 to join Team Liquid, while Guy “NertZ” Iluz has been acquired by G2 to complete their active Counter-Strike 2 roster.
malbsMd departs for Team Liquid
Team Liquid has acquired Samayoa, who will make his debut for the team at the upcoming BLAST Open Rotterdam. This strategic move is significant for the organization, as the addition of the Guatemalan player effectively places the active roster back into the Americas Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
The newly updated Team Liquid roster is:
- Keith “NAF” Markovic
- Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski
- Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek
- Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak
- Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa
- Viktor “flashie” Tamás Bea (Coach)
NertZ joins G2 Esports
Simultaneously, G2 Esports has finalized the addition of Guy “NertZ” Iluz to their active lineup. The roster change comes after consecutive group stage exits for G2 at PGL Cluj-Napoca and ESL Pro League Season 23.
The organization will look to integrate NertZ quickly, utilizing the upcoming BC.Game Masters tournament to play five official matches with their finalized starting five. NertZ will take over the roles previously held by malbsMd, who had seen a decline in his statistical output, dropping from a 1.13 rating in 2024 to a 1.02 rating in early 2026 following the departure of Nikola “NiKo” Kovač.
The newly updated G2 Esports roster is:
- Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
- Matúš “MATYS” Šimko
- Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko
- Álvaro “SunPayus” García
- Guy “NertZ” Iluz
- Eetu “sAw” Saha (Coach)
