Fourth AWPer in six months: Fnatic sign promising CIS talent

Let’s see if he lasts longer in Fnatic’s squad than his predecessors.

Fnatic have acquired the 20-year-old Ukrainian AWPer Dmytro “jambo” Semera from Passion UA, the organization announced on Friday evening.

Jambo steps in to replace Denys “Burmylov” Buraga, becoming Fnatic’s fourth AWPer in just six months. The team previously parted ways with Aurélien “afro” Drapier in late September, before cutting Tim “nawwk” Jonasson during the winter off-season.

Teaming up with former captain

With this move, jambo reunites with his former in-game leader, Rodion “fear” Smyk, whom he previously played alongside at Passion UA. The young AWPer gained recognition at the Shanghai Major, where he showcased his potential on the international stage.

Team Director Andreas Samuelsson believes jambo is the right player to help Fnatic return to the top.

– Known for his composure under pressure, versatility, and proficiency with all weapons, he adds a new dynamic to our roster. We believe he will play a key role in our vision to return to the biggest stages and once again compete for trophies, Samuelsson has stated via HLTV.
