Earlier this month, Viktor “flashie” Tamás Bea took on the big task of becoming the new head coach of Liquid.
It’s a huge opportunity for the 29-year-old coaching talent, who joins Liquid after spending two years as an analyst at NAVI, under the leadership of legendary head coach Andrij “B1ad3” Ghorodensjkyj.
“He’s on another level”
In the second part of a longer interview with flashie, we focus on B1ad3’s massive influence on the Hungarian’s career — and what makes him stand out from the rest.
When speaking with flashie, it quickly became clear how much admiration he holds for B1ad3.
By his own words, the long-standing NAVI head coach is a central reason why he now leads a top-tier team of his own.
What has it meant for you working for NAVI and under B1ad3?
“It meant everything, man. Most of my Counter-Strike knowledge is from the last two years. “Before NAVI my knowledge was good, and I thought I have a really high level of understanding of the game, but when I joined I realised I was wrong, the depth is actually crazy But B1ad3 gave me a new perspective on the whole game, and working with him meant everything to me. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for him and all the hard work we have done together.”
Can you try to explain Blad3 to me as someone who’s worked closely with him?
“He’s a Counter-Strike genius and a true strategist. For me, he’s on another level in CS. Even outside of the game, he’s really smart. But when it comes to the game, he just sees things that other people fail to notice. When you read a B1ad3 interview, you always learn something new, even if you’re an outsider. For him, it comes easily, and he’s just naturally really gifted.
B1ad3 also has very high authority. Everyone respects him, which is crucial if you want to be a good coach and get the players to buy into your system. He’s the kind of guy who leaves an impression on you, even if you just talk to him for five minutes. He always has a lot to say, and always thinks about all the perspectives.

What would you say is the most important thing you take with you from working under Blad3?
“Attention to detail, if I could say it shortly. He has really high precision, and his attention to detail is extraordinary. That was something I was lacking before I met him, and I think that’s what I’m taking with myself the most.”
Did you speak with him and discuss your move to Liquid?
“I didn’t discuss it with him. I was sure that I wanted to join. It was not something I had to think about, but I consider him a friend, and he helped me with this transition, giving me a few advice, which I really appreciate from him.”
Do you feel suited to manage and lead your own squad as someone who’s not had that much head coach experience?
“I am confident in my knowledge & ability to do a good job of leading the team. It’s gonna be a great challenge, but with all I learned in my time with NAVI, I can use the experience to my advantage and take things with me. I also have my personal style that kinda formed over the years. I will try to mash all these things together and create a great system for us.”
