FaZe win first CS2 trophy in history

While rumors are flying around about the future of the FaZe roster, the players on the team delivered an impressive run at IEM Sydney ending with a Grand Final win against Complexity.

It was however Complexity that took the first map home in front of a packed Aware Super Theatre Arena, that inspired the players with a wild atmosphere. In-game leader Johnny ‘JT’ Theodosiou was instrumental in the 13-11 win with a 24-16 K-D score.

On Nuke it was again a close affair where Jonathan ‘EliGE’ Jablonowski kept Complexity competitive against the Baltic force of FaZe with Helvijs “broky” Saukants and Robin “ropz” Kool leading the roster to a 13-10 win.

On Ancient it was the two Norwegians on the server that starred in a very entertaining ending to IEM Sydney. Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli and Håvard “rain” Nygaard delivered 55 kills combined in the thriller map, that had to take two overtime series to find the winner of the tournament with FaZe coming out on top with a 19-16 win.

FaZe took home $100,000 and a ticket to IEM Katowice 2024 with the victory in Sydney.
