In CSGO´s most recent update, Valve announced that Dust2 no longer will be a part of the active map pool going into 2023. The news gave the Counter-Strike community a shock as many pros and analysts believed that Vertigo or Mirage was the maps being left out. Many people talking about Dust2 as the most iconic map in CS, but Anubis will be taking over in 2023 as Dust2 is left out.

Despite the love towards the map Dust2, the map has only been played 228 times doing 2022 year by the top 30 teams in the world. The most played map in 2022 by the top 30 teams is Mirage with 327.
