Falcons defeat Liquid despite lacking rifler prodigy

m0NESY made up for the lack of kyousuke, dashing North America's hopes at a deep run.

The rifle players on Liquid were solid, but they quickly evaporated in the face of m0NESY’s star impact.

Team Liquid had virtually everything going their way in this series, winning all four pistol rounds. On top of that, they were facing a Falcons without their star rifler, Maxim ‘kyousuke’ Lukin.

With a player from the academy roster, Falcons beat Liquid on Nuke, despite going down 7-10 while on the terrorist side. They then went on to comfortably defeat Liquid on Dust2, thanks to a 1v3 clutch by Rene ‘TeSeS’ Madsen and a pop-off from Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovac.

Ilay ‘m0NESY’ Osipov was impactful and precise throughout with the AWP, while his counter-part Roland ‘ultimate’ Tomkowiak was missing many crucial shots. The former had 29 AWP kills in the series, while ultimate got only a fraction of that.

Falcons go on in the tournament, where academy player Matej ‘NucleonZ’ Trajkoski will get another crack at playing on an elite stage in esports.
