Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, former Astralis star, five time Major winner, and now a CS analyst, is joining Trinor Entertainment to help build Skyward Masters, a new first person shooter. He partners with Frederik Byskov, Co-founder of Astralis and former Director of Esports Operations at BLAST.
From server to studio
Since stepping away from pro play, dupreeh has kept a close link to Counter-Strike through on air analysis. Moving into development is a bigger swing, it puts one of CS’s most decorated riflers inside a studio where his habits and instincts can shape the feel of a competitive FPS. As he put it in the announcement:
“I’ve been on the scene as a player for many years, and now I have the chance to help create a game that delivers the same emotions and experiences I’ve had throughout my career. Skyward Masters combines intense action with tactical elements in a way that I believe will appeal to both casual gamers and hardcore competitors. It’s a dream project, and I’m incredibly excited to build it together with the team.”
Skyward Masters is not a one to one CS clone, it targets a four team arena format. It will still compete for the same audience’s time. If Trinor lands crisp gunplay and smart systems, it becomes a real adjacent competitor in the tactical FPS space, a title CS fans will compare against their gold standard.
