cadiaN: There is no way CS2 will be bigger than CS:GO

The Counter-Strike community was abuzz last week when game developer Valve announced the upcoming release of Counter-Strike 2, the first new installment in the series in over a decade. The announcement has led to excitement and speculation among fans of the game, including pro players.

In a recent tweet, Heroic’s cadiaN referred to an old statement from former Astralis coach zonic, who back in 2012 wrote, “There is no way CS:GO will be bigger than 1.6 ever were. Not this week, month, year or decade!”. This time, cadiaN has poked fun at the statement by hilariously modifying the statement, claiming that there is no way the Counter-Strike 2 will be bigger than CS:GO.

Despite zonic’s skepticism at the time, CS:GO has become one of the most popular esports titles in the world, with a thriving competitive scene and millions of players globally. With the announcement of Counter-Strike 2, and some snippets of the new features, many are wondering how popular the game will be in the future.

According to Valve, Counter-Strike 2 will be the largest technical leap forward in the history of the series, with new features and updates promised for years to come.
