BLAST has announced that the first-ever BLAST Rival is set to take place in Monterrey, Mexico. This marks a historic moment for Mexican fans, who will get to experience top-tier Counter-Strike on home soil for the first time since the ECS Season 4 Finals in 2017.
The tournament – dubbed BLAST Rival Season 1 – will feature eight top teams battling for the total prize of $1 million USD, divided between prize winnings and participation fees.
Scheduled to run from April 30 to May 4, the event will be held at the Escenario GNP Seguros in Monterrey.
The return of premier Counter-Strike to Mexico is a major milestone, as the last significant event, the ECS Season 4 Finals, saw teams like FaZe Clan, Astralis, and SK Gaming clash in Cancun six years ago.
