Russian esports organization AMKAL has announced the benching of their star AWPer, Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov, amid an internal investigation into the 19-year-old player’s conduct.
In an official statement, AMKAL outlined their intention to scrutinize Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov’s actions:
– The club has initiated an investigation to determine if there has been any unfair behaviour from the player towards AMKAL ESPORTS organization. We respect our players and fans and will continue to provide new information, the statement reads.
Unauthorized Test Matches
According to CIS insider and Team Spirit scout Aleksey “OverDrive” Biryukov, one of the reasons for ICY’s benching is his participation in test matches with Cloud9 without AMKAL’s permission. This information, however, has yet to be confirmed by any of the involved parties.
Speculation about Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov’s potential transfer to Cloud9 has been circulating for weeks. Given Cloud9’s ongoing search for a dedicated sniper following the departure of Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov, ICY’s benching adds fuel to these rumors. His skillset could fill the void Cloud9 has been looking to address.
