Airtight overtime openers in Stage 3

Imperial and MOUZ won their opening games 16-14 against their respective opponents.

Imperial and MOUZ won their opening games 16-14 against their respective opponents.

MOUZ barely pulled off an overtime win against PARIVISION on Overpass. PARIVISION were in position to win the game with 2 match points, but it slipped away when the pressure of Stage 3 got to them.

MOUZ came out on top with the Israelis top-fragging. An assertive Dorian ‘xertioN’ Berman performance, and a crisp ace from Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi with the AK in an otherwise middling map helped to close out the match.

xertioN said after the match that the start of Majors always comes “with a lot of nerves”. He added that PARIVISION were “shooting very hard, which made it difficult to close out situations.”

Imperial surprise once again

Imperial on the other side of things managed an upset against theMongolZ on Dust2. The map also went to overtime in a hyper-contested war on Dust2, with Marcelo ‘chelo’ Cespedes and Ayush ‘mzinho’ Batbold doing battle.

Imperial continue their run of upsets at the Major, now in the 1-0 pool in Stage 3. One of the favorites to not make it through Stage 1, now they have another best-of-one shot to get a step closer to the playoffs.
