Martin “trace” Heldt is no longer in charge of Astralis’ CS:GO team. That became publicly known this Wednesday when Astralis announced the benching of the 32-year-old head coach, and that more changes and upgrades inside and outside the roster will come in the future.
Astralis bench head coach: More changes to the team will come
The former Counter-Strike 1.6 star was appointed as head coach for Astralis’ main team back in May this year, taking over the reins from Alexander “ave” Holdt. However, missing out on the Major and a series of bad tournament results has meant that trace’s days at the Danish organization seem to be numbered.
Something he opens up about on Twitter.
Benched due to poor results and especially missing the major. Thanks to the org and especially the players who work their heart out day in and day out. Thanks to all the fans – your support is everything to me and the players. Keep supporting them like you always do.
With me, I take invaluable experience. I will continue to be a coach but taking the time to find the right fit for me.
A second place at Pinnacle Cup Championship ended up being trace’s best result as an Astralis head coach. Not making it to the Major ended up being his death.
