NIP’s coach said that they saw this as a positive matchup, but were unable to capitalize and missed out on critical VRS points.
Richard ‘Xizt’ Landström spoke to us right after losing to Astralis and being eliminated from EWC.
This is a huge blow for us. We’re losing to a direct competitor for Major spots potentially.
We thought we had a good chance, but they also played good.
Losing their map pick 3-13
NIP opened the series with a huge loss on their map pick, losing advantageous situations, according to Xizt..
Xizt also said that they expected to win Nuke given Astralis’s record on the map.
Nuke is by far [Astralis’s] worst map, they can barely get wins on it. I think they had a good game plan today and punished us with some aggressive plays.
“We always have discussions [about roster moves]”
Xizt admitted NIP’s results were not good enough and said that roster moves could be on the table.
We always have discussions within the team [about roster movies], we’ll have to see what happens. Obviously the results haven’t been there, we have had a lot of chances […].
That being said, we should have a better team than our results are saying right now.
Xizt also gave more details on the Astralis matchup, listen to the full interview here:
