torzsi: “xertioN puts me in good positions where I can be utilized”

MOUZ sniper Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás and his team secured their spot in the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs after defeating PARIVISION in a clean 2-0 series. The victory provided a necessary rebound for the roster following a narrow 2-1 loss to FUT in their initial qualification attempt.

The current MOUZ lineup operates under a modified leadership structure implemented prior to the IEM Cologne Major in June, which transitioned Dorian “xertioN” Berman into the in-game leader role in place of Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin. Following the qualification match, torzsi discussed the team’s progression, the impact of xertioN as the in-game leader, and the integration of new players.

Contrasting opponents on the server

The path to the playoffs required MOUZ to adapt to distinct tactical approaches, with torzsi highlighting the stark contrast between their series against the aggressive FUT and the methodical PARIVISION.

I think they have a much different playstyle, and we also knew about it,” torzsi said. “FUT is a really explosive, fast team who like to play aggressive and just pop in the first 20 to 35 seconds. PARIVISION is really slow, as it’s Jame calling, so they like to play slow and play out the rounds.

Thriving under new leadership

Despite the structural adjustments within the team, torzsi has maintained a consistent level of individual performance, attributing much of this success to his long-standing relationship with his new in-game leader.

I really enjoy playing here with the new lineup and with the new leading,” torzsi explained. “xertioN and I have a really good connection, and we understand each other really well, and it also shows in the game. We have been teammates for almost six years, and we understand each other really well on the server.

This understanding has directly influenced torzsi’s positioning and overall impact during matches, allowing him to move past a slump he experienced prior to IEM Rio.

I just feel like I’m in a position where I’m getting utilized more for the benefit of the team,” torzsi said. “Before, maybe there was some period where I felt like I was not utilized the best, and I also didn’t feel the best in game. Now it’s completely different, and I feel like xertioN knows what I like to do and how to use me the best in games.

Playoff expectations and new additions

Heading into the EWC playoffs, MOUZ carries the momentum of a recent tournament victory at BLAST Bounty, though torzsi maintains a grounded perspective regarding the capabilities of the young roster.

We won the last tournament at BLAST Bounty and lifted the trophy, so I think this tournament we are of course here to aim for the trophy, but at the same time we know we are a new team,” torzsi stated. “We don’t expect too much from ourselves, as we want to play the games out first and just see how good we are in the playoffs versus better teams.

The recent roster adjustments also introduced Adrian “xelex” Vincze to the active lineup, and the newcomer has quickly found his footing in tier-one competition.

He’s playing really good for his age, and as a new guy I think he’s showing up, putting up really good numbers and helping us win games,” torzsi said about his Hungarian countryman. “He’s a guy who can bring a lot of good energy, give you some good vibes and give you good confidence, which is needed.
