NRG edge past FlyQuest while Lynn Vision dominate Sharks to reach 2-1 pool in Cologne

North America faced Oceania in the 1-1 bracket as NRG and FlyQuest battled for an opportunity to move one win away from the next stage of the Major. The chosen battleground was Mirage. NRG entered the server with a solid recent record on the map, while FlyQuest had failed to secure a victory on Mirage in their two attempts over the past three months.

The North American squad finished the first half with an 8-4 lead. The scoreline disguised a tightly contested initial half where FlyQuest failed to capitalize on several advantageous situations.

NRG extended their lead to 11-4 early in the second half, putting immediate pressure on the Australians. FlyQuest responded by stringing together five consecutive rounds to close the gap and force a competitive late game. At 12-10, Michael ‘Grim’ Wince secured the map for NRG by winning a 1vs1 situation. NRG advance to 2-1 in the standings, leaving FlyQuest in the elimination bracket to evaluate their missed opportunities.
