Vitality also beat G2 in a great series ending with a tech issue.
Vitality get their revenge on G2
This was the first rematch between these two giant organizations, since G2 beat the mighty Vitality in the grand final of BLAST Open London 2025. That time, it was a five-map thriller that was on a knife’s edge. This time, it was no different.
Mario ‘malbsMd’ Samayoa went +18 over the first two maps, giving G2 the chance to win 2-0 over the IEM Krakow champions. He also had 10 opening kills. Unfortunately for the Guatemalan, it was not enough to take the opening map away from Vitality.
On the third map of Anubis, Vitality showed the breadth of their map pool as they dominated the CT side of the most T-sided map in the pool. To make matters worse for G2, Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač disconnected from the server due to a crash that occurred in a 3v5 with a 8-12 scoreline. It was already a difficult situation to win that Vitality closed out without breaking a sweat.
FUT are the spoiler of a great day for the favorites
NAVI, Vitality, FaZe, Falcons, MOUZ and Spirit all bagged wins against who they should today. However, Aurora were the one favorite to fumble, and it came against the international squad that has been a nightmare for even the top teams.
They beat Aurora in convicing fashion, winning Mirage and Overpass 13-6. They only lost on Anubis 13-16, a map Aurora have yet to lose this year.
FUT go on to face FURIA, a team which they already beat earlier this month at IEM Krakow.
NAVI beat Astralis 2-0
Astralis came into this series with their stock rising as they almost made it to the playoffs of IEM Krakow. Their opening matchup here was a manageable one against #7 in the world, NAVI.
NAVI beat Astralis 2-0, starting by taking their map pick of Nuke. Astralis shot themselves in the foot by winning the opening pistol round, but losing the next round. They were on the back foot from the beginning, and another stellar half from Gytis ‘ryu’ Glušauskas served to get them only five rounds at the half.
However, it was too little too late as NAVI won the second pistol round and 4 rounds consecutive. It was then a formality to close out the map, as Astralis attempted a mini-comeback.
On NAVI’s pick of Mirage, it was close in the first half. However, Astralis failed to put up a threatening T-side. They won only 6 T-side rounds in the whole match. Jakob ‘jabbi’ Nygaard had a nightmare, with a 0.53 rating. This series might have shaped differently, had he shown up more in form.
