The IGL of FURIA also credited preparation time in their destruction of AURORA.
“What keeps me motivated is working on myself as I progress in my career,” said Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo, now leading FURIA to big trophies as a leader with the rifle. “There’s so much that I’ve learned about myself, about life through competition.”
Despite having a career spanning back to the first ever IEM tournament 20 years ago, it hasn’t always been succesful for FalleN. Between 2018 and 2025, he failed to reach sustained success as the leader or primary AWPer of a team.
He said that every iteration of the teams he’s had has been able to teach him something, and now he is back to the top.
“We had a lot of preparation time for this game,” FalleN said about the AURORA match. “I’m really happy with the way we entered the match, […] everybody had contributions.”
MAJ3R laments another quarter-final exit at IEM
“We all played badly individually,” said Engin ‘MAJ3R’ Küpeli after his teammate managed 80 damage per round in a series where AURORA lost both maps convincingly. “We tried to help soulfly, but we four played badly also.”
Last year at IEM Katowice 2025, this same core of players was beaten 2-0 by TheMongolZ. Instead of referring to AURORA’s recurrent stage capitulations, MAJ3R lamented that their form was not the same as in the group stage.
“We did not play like in the group stage,” MAJ3R said. “I’m very disappointed.”
AURORA’s next event begins on the 14th of February 2026 at PGL Cluj-Napoca, where they wil have a chance to prove themselves against the top teams once again.
