Astralis has picked up a new AWPer and rifler from the lower tiers of competition.
Astralis have made official the additions of Gytis ‘ryu’ Glušauskas and Love ‘phzy’ Smidebrant. This duo will be replacing Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz and Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif. The former has gone onto join 100Thieves.
The Swede, phzy, is of Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) and Wildcard fame. He has played at Majors before, the last one being the BLAST Austin Major, where Wildcard went out in Stage 1. He also played in the final of the post-pandemic tournament, IEM Winter 2021, where NIP lost to Vitality.
ryu, a young Bulgarian of 21 years of age, last played on Monte, where he won Dreamhack Knockout Stockholm against FUT. ryu will play his first Tier-1 matches with an Astralis jersey, the first at BLAST Bounty Season 1 starting January 12th.
